BeMobile gets operation licence in Solomon Islands
21 JANUARY 2010 HONIARA (ISLAND SUN) ----- New Solomon Islands Telecommunication entrant Bemobile Company was this week formally given its license to legally operate in the country.
This came after the Evaluation Committee has formally announced last month that Bemobile was accepted ahead of two other applicants to offer telecommunication services in Solomon Islands.
Chief Executive Officer Mr Julien Coustaury said he was very glad that Bemobile has now had the legal right to operate in the country.
He said this has been a very important administrative step, and now that it is secured; Bemobile is ready and looking forward to deliver first class services to its valuable customers.
“Registering the company locally will be the next step which should be done very soon.
“That is to incorporate the company as Bemobile Solomon Islands.
“With this I would like to make it clear to the general public that now that the Foreign Investment Board (FIB) recognizes Bemobile Company, we are now a legal company in Solomon Islands,” he stressed.
Mr. Coustaury said this has opened up for more available resources the company was looking for.
“That is to secure sites and start the groundwork’s immediately.
Mr Coustaury said the company would be looking for local sub-contractors to commence the groundwork as soon as possible.
“As long as everything is in place, the company will be looking into recruiting employees to work,” he added.
Island Sun understands the license have been issued to Bemobile Company after they re-appealed to the Facilitating Committee after the initial submission was rejected earlier. ….PNS (ENDS) |
